A brief chat with Jose, our catering operations manager

What is your favorite dish the Faculty Club serves?
Burrata cheese, beefsteak heirloom tomatoes, lava sea salt, and basil oil pipette. This dish is absolutely beautiful—the chef really outdid himself with this one. The heirloom tomatoes balance perfectly with the burrata's mild flavor, and the lava salt just gives the dish more depth. My favorite part about this dish is that you'll interact with the food while squeezing the oil pipette into the cheese and watching it burst!

What is your favorite event space?
It's got to be the Bard Hall rooftop. In the hot summer afternoons. hosting social networking barbecues and light receptions is awesome. We get to watch see the sun set with that amazing view over the Hudson, and there's the gentle summer breeze. (Note: The rooftop is currently under renovation to create an improved amenity space.)

What is your favorite type of event to host?
My favorite events to host are reception/plated dinners. This is where we shine and really showcase our food, set-ups, event style, and event logistics.

What is a memorable moment from your time at the Faculty Club?
Walking six hours in thigh-high snow only to get to work and find out the university was closed! What a day that was.

Can you share a helpful tip for customers booking with you?
No matter how big or small your event—a conference, lunch, donor visit, or something else—we take a lot of pride in every bit that we do to ensure your function is a success. We try to make the event planning process as simple as possible for you. Give us your concept and we will make it happen.
